Meet Rob Wiebe. Rob has always had an interest in machinery; starting at a young age, he was operating a variety of machines and equipment on his family farm. Rob has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He has always had a keen interest in hydraulics and machinery, which has led him towards starting his own Screw Pile business- Grassland Screw Piles. Grassland Screw Piles installs Almita Screw Piles that are CCMC certified and are backed by a team of engineers.
Screw piles are wound into the ground, much like a screw is wound into wood. This is an efficient means of installation and coupled with their mechanism of dispersing load, provides effective in-ground performance in a range of soils, including sandy, clay, and marshy providing load disbursement of the structure that is built on the screw piles preventing shifting or sinking.
NOTE: GRASSLAND DOES NOT BUILD THE PRODUCTS ABOVE. GRASSLAND INSTALLS SCREW PILES THAT WILL SUPPORT THESE STRUCTURES FROM SINKING OR SHIFTING.
Please reach us at Grassland@mymts.net if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We do everything we can to protect your landscaping. We have protective mats that we can lay down on the grass to protect it from our skid steer tracks.
Possibly but probably not.
The lifespan of a screw pile depends on the type of soil where the screw pile is installed and it's chemical properties (pH, humidity, etc). Under normal use in a average soil you can expect about 75 years.
Screw piles are especially useful for support of temporary structures since they can be removed and reused with little to no change in structural integrity. This is very different from a driven pile or drilled shaft or a grouted anchor which are often just abandoned.
Rob will take a look at your plans and figure out how many you will need. The industry usually recommends a distance of 8 to 10 feet between screw piles, depending on the type of structure.

We use bare steel piles OR galvanized piles. The piles are smooth so frost does not stick to them. Piles are drilled way below the frost line preventing them from heaving.
Absolutely!
Once the screw pile is drilled into the ground we leave an amount of the screw pile out of the ground leveling them off to an even height. The top of the screw pile is what you set your foundation or deck on.
I highly recommend Grassland Screw Piles. They have screw piles for any size job. From supporting a deck to a house. Rob came down checked out the job and by the next morning he had the job done. He was super knowledgeable and the price was very reasonable, much cheaper than traditional concrete piles. And to boot there was absolutely no mess. Thanks again Rob. - C.C.
